Driving traffic to your website organically can be a nightmare, whether you’re an SEO specialist or not. The nagging of clients breathing down your neck because they’re not seeing the results you promised right away.

Little do many people understand that SEO is a long and hard journey, and if done correctly, it can deliver some serious results and is ultimately the most effective search result there. And think about it, if you’re not showing up on Google, especially on the first page, your website might as well not exist.

There are two main factors to consider when doing SEO for your website: On-Page SEO & Off-Page SEO:

On-Page SEO includes Meta Descriptions, Title Tags, H1-H6 usage, Image Alt Text, and Content Weight to name a few. These are known as the technical structure of your website.

While Off-Page SEO refers to the work done outside of your website to help improve your rankings in search engines. These include link building, content marketing, outreach, and signing up to forums to mention what your business is about. In simple terms, off-page SEO helps search engines understand what your website is about and what others think about it.

In this article, I’m going to cover one crucial off-page factor to consider if you want to improve your search engine rankings. And this is by bumping up the domain authority of your website.
If you’re not familiar with this term, I’ll quickly explain what it is and what it can do for your website.

Domain authority is measured out of a score of 100. Your website score is calculated by evaluating certain factors such as the number of links pointing to your site and considering those links’ domain authority.

In other words, you can have a million backlinks, but if they don’t have a high domain authority score, it wouldn’t be as strong as having 100k high authority links. For example, imagine a site like Amazon with a score of 96 linking to your site as supposed to a newly developed site. Which one will have a better impact?

Bump Up Your Website Authority:

The only way to do this is through off-page SEO. You should know, that off-page SEO is only effective if your website’s technical structure is in tip-top shape, so invest time in your website’s on-page SEO, fix all errors that Google might notice, and proceed in your journey of getting that authority score up.

Here’s how you do it: Get High Authority Domain Websites To Root For You.

This is a very tricky and time-consuming journey, but worth it. Your quest in finding these links and having the webmaster get back to you can have you give up sooner than you think as most of them want you to pay them, and believe me, they’re not cheap. The worse part is, as you may know, Google penalizes websites that purchase links, and where will this leave you? Money out of your pocket, and a website that’s kicked to the back of the line.

Here’s My Number One Method That Has Helped Me Gain Domain Authority: Guest Posts. A Lot Of It.

There are many platforms out there that allow you to post content on their websites for free, as long as it is well written and adds value to their readers, so it’s a win-win for both parties. So, not only are you getting ‘link juice’ from these sites, but you are also educating readers on your experience, and producing information for a group of people that might find your content of real value to them.

Conclusion:

I hope you have found this article of value and good luck on your journey of ranking your site on page one of Google… I know how difficult and frustrating it can get!
